Alturas

Mr. T and I had planned on making a trip to the Grand Canyon with some friends and my sibs but it didn't end up working out. A car broke down, someone swallowed a bottle cap and had to have emergency surgery and we weren't willing to drive on our own. So instead we decided to go visit my brother Jesse at his new place. He and his girlfriend Amy (which I'm hoping to be calling sister in law sometime soon!) have a really nice place and we had a great time with them. I think Bretta really enjoyed herself also.

I've been a bad blogger

Maybe I'm not cut out for this blogging stuff after all! The last month has been a crazy busy one. I started teaching Sunday school at ST. A's which I love (who woulda thunk right? haha) I am teaching 5 year olds that have just started kindergarten and I love it. Its so cool to see how each of them get more comfortable with each week and to see all of their personalities coming out.

Mr.T and I have been having an especially great time together lately. The picture to the right is of the dinner he made a few weeks ago after a week of him working nights. So sweet right?

I'm really looking forward to my birthday party which will be on Halloween- costumes are not optional! Mr.T is going to be Batman and I am going to be Poison Ivy. I think it will be a lot of fun. I'm going to try and be a better blogger. I've got to post some pictures of our recent vacay when I can find the camera....

Delicious Cookies anyone?

Next on our foods to try list was this recipe stolen from SD22 on the nest. They sounded great and turned out great. I think Mr.T still prefers my chocolate chip cookies but the bonus of this recipe is that it uses about half the sugar.
Here is how they look in the bowl

And the finished product

Pizza!

So Mr.T and I decided to try our hand at homemade pizza, which ended up being Mr.T making homemade pizza for both of us. (side note: how do you like our mini stove? We're trying to get used to it...)

His was pepperoni, canadian bacon and pineapple. (Bleh!) Mine was pesto, feta cheese, artichoke hearts, kalamata olives and tomatoe- delicious!

Pardon my ineptness...

I'm thinking that maybe I'm not such a good blogger! I am trying to get into the swing of this I swear. And figure out how to add pics.
Basically Mr.T and I have been bad kids (well more accurately, busy kids) and haven't had a whole lot of time on our hands to be working on the blog here. Our goal okay, my goal, is to post pics of our trips, talk about our recipe trials (ps: made a fab flourless chocolate cake and left the raspberries on over night on the counter, the cake molded. GROSS) and whatever else tickles our fancy.
This past weekend we went to my cousin Kathy's wedding in Oregon and had such a good time! I will post some pics soon. (See beautiful Mt. Shasta from I5 below)

Hiking!

On Saturday Mr.T and I went hiking with N and D in Sugarloaf and it was fun! We had a delicious picnic pre-hike and started out in the nice warm sun. It felt really good to be out and about with the sun on my back. Until I got over hot and dizzy only about halfway through the hike. Then I was just happy that we were almost done (that's what I told myself anyways...) and that we were with good friends. At the end of the hike I stuck my head under a water spigot and it felt amazing! In the end, it was really nice to visit and to get outside in the 110 degree weather.

First one!

I, Mrs. T, am doing the honors for our first post because Mr.T is at work. We have just moved into to our new apartment which I really like but will like even better once all of our boxes are unpacked. Its been interesting adapting to new storage methods and its going a bit slower than I (or Mr.T) would like to. Poor B has been so stressed with the move that she seems to have caught a cold so we are keeping her on light duty and trying to spend as much time with her as we can. She does love her new back yard though and has gotten much more adventurous when she is outside alone. Currently we are looking forward to having no plans for the weekend and spending some quality time together.
